A Family Reunion
In 1997, a small group of Edie descendants decided it was time
to organise a Re-union of the far-flung clan in New Zealand.
It was held in Dunedin, during a January weekend, with a trip
to Edievale on the Saturday.

After Registering on the Friday evening, there was an opportunity
for family to meet, catch up, & chat |
Alan Edie, Itinerary co-ordinator & one of the Organising
Committee |
On the Saturday we moved into Central Otago |
stopping first at the Museum in Lawrence |
For many it was welcome chance to stretch their legs |
and wait for others for whom it was a "comfort stop" |
Various Edie family members spent time living in Lawrence
especially while completing part of their schooling
Next it was onto Edievale, now just a remnant of the original
village
The highpoint of the Saturday |
was at the Cemetary at Crookston |
where a Service |
was held |
to re-Dedicate the Family Memorial
and to add to it a plaque commemorating the Re-union |
Then it was time for lunch, at a local community Hall
Sunday morning was family group photos |
and more family group photos |
And when it was all over,
the Organising Committee breathed a sigh of relief, and
went out for dinner! |
